Grapes from the garden at Fattoria Mose

Food

Good food has always been an important part of life at Mosè. The emphasis is on local, seasonal produce and traditonal family recipes that have been handed from generation to generation.
Children eating breakfast with homemade jams

Breakfast is a buffet of local cheeses, salami, home made jams, fresh fuit and freshly baked bread, served between 8 am and 10 am every morning.

Most evenings supper is served around a table for up to eighteen people. The menu changes daily and most of the ingredients are grown on the farm. Everything is locally sourced and the dishes are typical of the Sicilian countryside, with a few additions to make the most of our produce.

Evening supper is served between 8-8.30 pm. Guests are asked to please book dinner by 11 o’clock in the morning and inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements.

Simonetta has written two books about food and the stories behind it and Chiara has transcribed the recipes that we have cooked here forever. “Un Filo D’Olio” was published in March 2011 and has become a bestseller in Italy.

Cookery classes specialising in local dishes can be booked in advance.
